Ring-Tailed Lemurs like these, played an amusing role, with the main characters who escaped from the New York City Zoo. Long ago and far away, Madagascar broke off from the African Continent, to become a large island in the Indian Ocean. The Ring-Tailed Lemur species was then restricted to this island. These three somehow escaped and made it to the Cincinnati Zoo. The ability to move their eyes is very limited, and the black ring around them creates this wide-eyed appearance. That may be a good excuse, but my Mother always told me that it is ... Not Polite To Stare.

My love for photography began as a boy when I was taught the basics by my father. During a tour of duty with an Army Combat K9 unit in Vietnam, I bought a professional model Nikon SLR camera and dreamed of becoming an artistic photographer when I returned home. A family of my own and a new career put that dream on hold for many years, but I had always enjoyed photography as an art form. Then, after surviving another kind of war with cancer back in 1997, I began to really see the beauty in our world.
