Walking through a narrow gorge, along an easy pathway, by an almost dry creek bed was very peaceful. Once inhabited by Native Americans, early settlers named it when they found a huge pile of ashes. Because of the natural shelter and excellent acoustics, it was often used as a church before one could be built. My love for photography began as a boy when I was taught the basics by my father. During a tour of duty with an Army Combat K9 unit in Vietnam, I bought a professional model Nikon SLR camera and dreamed of becoming an artistic photographer when I returned home.
