(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) It all began way back in 1837 when candle maker William Proctor met a soap maker named James Gamble. They soon became partners and the success of their new company in difficult times, occurred during the Civil War due to the large candle and soap contracts they received. Then their business grew rapidly in 1879 when they nationally marketed their soon to become famous, floating Ivory Soap. A really great idea for people washing themselves in bathtubs. Anyway, their success is legendary and the Proctor and Gamble Brand is known all over the globe. Their beautiful world-wide headquarters is located right in the heart of the city where they started, and these twin towers are another ... Cincinnati Landmark.

About Mel Steinhauer
My love for photography began as a boy when I was taught the basics by my father. During a tour of duty with an Army Combat K9 unit in Vietnam, I bought a professional model Nikon SLR camera and dreamed of becoming an artistic photographer when I returned home. A family of my own and a new career put that dream on hold for many years, but I had always enjoyed photography as an art form. Then, after surviving another kind of war with cancer back in 1997, I began to really see the beauty in our world.
