Product Details

Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) In the early months of 1969, U.S. Army Scout Dog Heidi was only four years old but she was serving her 2nd tour of duty in South Vietnam. She liked to eat and was a bit on the heavy side, but I knew she got plenty of exercise on our patrols of the rice paddies, rivers and villages. I had to carry her water and food, plus my own gear so one time I made her carry a cloth bandoleer of my ammunition. That was a really bad idea though since she was much closer to the ground than I was. As she walked, my magazines of live rounds quickly filled up with mud, making them inoperable. She was still my best friend though and she was always watching out for everyone in my squad. Just like she was here when we returned to a small outpost after another exhausting, but uneventful patrol. During a well-deserved rest she still kept her ears up and her eyes open even though she was really, really ... Dog Tired.

My love for photography began as a boy when I was taught the basics by my father. During a tour of duty with an Army Combat K9 unit in Vietnam, I bought a professional model Nikon SLR camera and dreamed of becoming an artistic photographer when I returned home. A family of my own and a new career put that dream on hold for many years, but I had always enjoyed photography as an art form. Then, after surviving another kind of war with cancer back in 1997, I began to really see the beauty in our world. Ever since then I have been inspired with a new awareness of life and an improved photographic vision. This has compelled me to find beautiful scenes wherever I go and to share my favorite creations with others who may not have the time or...
