(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) The northern border of Ohio runs along the southern shores of Lake Erie and here you will find many interesting things to see and do. There are even some small islands to visit if you are craving for a nearby tropical destination after a long, cold winter. Just a short ferry boat ride from Port Clinton took me to South Bass Island and the colorful town of Put-In-Bay. My love for photography began as a boy when I was taught the basics by my father. During a tour of duty with an Army Combat K9 unit in Vietnam, I bought a professional model Nikon SLR camera and dreamed of becoming an artistic photographer when I returned home. A family of my own and a new career put that dream on hold for many years, but I had always enjoyed photography as an art form.
