Description
(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) Just off the southern Georgia coast you will find the scenic beauty of the Golden Isles. Jekyll Island is only 7 miles long and 1.5 miles wide, but has an abundance of wide, flat sandy beaches. There are also many centuries old Southern Live Oak Trees, like this one covered in hanging Spanish Moss. Not long ago the dense and strong wood from these trees were used to make curved beams in the hulls of ships. The moss was used as insulation, mulch, packing material and stuffing for matresses. One sunny and warm spring day, this big old tree was just quietly doing its job so I really had it ... Made In The Shade.
I created this black and white image from my original color photograph taken on location by adding digital enhancements, textures or other effects. These effects and image details will become more visible by clicking inside the green magnifier square as the cursor is placed over the image.
