(Copyright Mel Steinhauer All Rights Reserved) There is a popular cartoon movie that my grand-kids love to watch, called Madagascar. Ring-Tailed Lemurs like these, played an amusing role, with the main characters who escaped from the New York City Zoo. Long ago and far away, Madagascar broke off from the African Continent, to become a large island in the Indian Ocean. The Ring-Tailed Lemur species was then restricted to this island. These three somehow escaped and made it to the Cincinnati Zoo. The ability to move their eyes is very limited, and the black ring around them creates this wide-eyed appearance. That may be a good excuse, but my Mother always told me that it is ... Not Polite To Stare.
