Description
(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) Not far from Halifax, in Nova Scotia, is a small fishing village now visited by many tourists and artists. Colorful fishing boats and old weathered sheds add the charm and a blue sky does create a beautiful scene. Some say Peggy is just a nickname for Margaret, and this cove was named for nearby St. Margarets Bay. Others say that in the 1800s, an injured girl was found on the shoreline, after a shipwreck. She could not speak, or had no memory, so the locals named her Peggy. But no one seems to really know for sure, just why this beautiful village is called ... Peggys Cove.
