(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) Yosemite National Park has an abundance of massive granite rock formations. The most famous one being Half Dome, as viewed here from Glacier Point. The great photographer Ansel Adams spent over sixty years capturing the beauty of this area during the last century. Ansel perfected his processing techniques to produce images that reflected what he saw and felt while taking the photograph. Many other photographers of that era captured the solidity and geology of the rocks, but Ansel's work more dramatically included the ever-changing and transient effects of the weather. Half Dome has been photographed in many ways, but on a clear and beautiful day this scene was just ... Taken For Granite.
I created this black and white image from my original color photograph taken on location by adding digital enhancements, textures or other effects. These effects and image details will become more visible by clicking inside the green magnifier square as the cursor is placed over the image.
