Description
(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) John Augustus Roebling built this suspension bridge between Cincinnati and the northern tip of Kentucky way back in the 1860s. At that time it was the world's largest and became the prototype for the Brooklyn Bridge. Today, both sides of the river are constantly changing with new buildings and developments. The Cincinnati Reds got a new baseball stadium a few years ago and the skyline just added the city's tallest building topped off with a fancy tiara. Work is still in progress on new shops, restaurants and green spaces for everyone to enjoy. Late one afternoon as the sun cast a warm glow on the hand-cut stones, I was able to enjoy this beautiful scene of ... The Old And The New.
I created this black and white image from my original color photograph taken on location by adding digital enhancements, textures and other effects. These effects and image details will become more visible by clicking inside the green magnifier square as the cursor is placed over the image.
