(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) This Cincinnati - Northern Kentucky landmark is more famous than most people realize. Construction that began in 1856, was delayed by financial troubles and the Civil War. It was the 1st bridge connecting Cincinnati to Covington when it opened on New Year's Day in 1867. At a span over the river of 1057 feet, it was the world's longest suspension bridge. John A. Roebling's bridge was also the prototype for the Brooklyn Bridge. As a boy we called it The Singing Bridge because of the noise made by car tires running on the steel deck. Today, some people call it Roebling's Bridge, but most just call it ... The Suspension Bridge.
I created this black and white image from my original color photograph taken on location by adding digital enhancements, textures and other effects. These effects and image details will become more visible by clicking inside the green square magnifier as the cursor is placed over the image.

This has compelled me to find beautiful scenes wherever I go and to share my favorite creations with others who may not have the time or...
