(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) I always find something interesting when I take a trip back in time to Rabbit Hash, Kentucky. Plus, it's just a pleasant place to visit whenever I feel the need to escape the concrete and crowds of everyday life in the city. Not far from Cincinnati, on the southern banks of the Ohio River, nostalgia and Americana are the dominant features of the area. Over the years I have been fortunate enough to capture many different and beautiful scenes in my travels, but until recently I never gave much thought about the possibilities of ... About Mel Steinhauer
My love for photography began as a boy when I was taught the basics by my father. During a tour of duty with an Army Combat K9 unit in Vietnam, I bought a professional model Nikon SLR camera and dreamed of becoming an artistic photographer when I returned home. A family of my own and a new career put that dream on hold for many years, but I had always enjoyed photography as an art form. Then, after surviving another kind of war with cancer back in 1997, I began to really see the beauty in our world.
