(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) Along the Kentucky Bourbon Trail west of Lexington, near the small town of Loretto you can take a tour of the famous Maker's Mark Distillery. Beneath the lush green pastures of this region, a limestone shelf naturally purifies the water which is a very important ingredient in the making of the world's best bourbons. A small stream from an underground spring, conveniently flows near the Master Distiller's House and other buildings. Free tours are very interesting, scenic and they even give free samples. About Mel Steinhauer
My love for photography began as a boy when I was taught the basics by my father. During a tour of duty with an Army Combat K9 unit in Vietnam, I bought a professional model Nikon SLR camera and dreamed of becoming an artistic photographer when I returned home. A family of my own and a new career put that dream on hold for many years, but I had always enjoyed photography as an art form.
