Artist's Description
(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) On the Oregon Central Coast, near the mouth of the Yaquina River, you will find Oregon's tallest lighthouse. At 93 feet high on top of a narrow point of land, the light can be seen 20 miles away. It is also one of the most popular lighthouses in the United States with over 400,000 visitors each year. The lantern was first lit in 1873 and then the light-keepers were replaced when it was automated in 1966. But the original Fresnel lens is still being illuminated and ships at sea are still being guided by the beacon from the ... Yaquina Head Light.

Ever since then I have been inspired with a new awareness of life and an improved photographic vision. This has compelled me to find beautiful scenes wherever I go and to share my favorite creations with others who may not have the time or...
