(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) Yes it often rains in London, just like they say. But sometimes it's only a light rain, and you can still enjoy the many shops, museums and of course the famous English Pubs. The word Pub, is short for Public House, simply meaning they are open to the public. I found this one at 42 Ludgate Hill, just a short walk from St. Paul's Cathedral. I stood across the street in a light rain, patiently waiting for people and traffic to go by.The bright red front, colorful flowers, and the name invited me inside to enjoy a local tradition. My love for photography began as a boy when I was taught the basics by my father. During a tour of duty with an Army Combat K9 unit in Vietnam, I bought a professional model Nikon SLR camera and dreamed of becoming an artistic photographer when I returned home. A family of my own and a new career put that dream on hold for many years, but I had always enjoyed photography as an art form. Then, after surviving another kind of war with cancer back in 1997, I began to really see the beauty in our world.
