(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) Sand dunes along our coastlines play a vital role in preventing erosion, supporting native vegetation and wildlife in addition to protecting homes and property. The bigger, higher and wider the sand dunes are, quite often is best to support all of those causes. That's why it is necessary to try and keep people from walking over them, riding motorbikes on them or many other ways in which they can be easily destroyed. My love for photography began as a boy when I was taught the basics by my father. During a tour of duty with an Army Combat K9 unit in Vietnam, I bought a professional model Nikon SLR camera and dreamed of becoming an artistic photographer when I returned home.
