When I saw the raindrops on the window, and the shadows of the bare winter trees in the fog outside, the song, written by Paul Williams and Roger Nichols and made famous by Carpenters back in 1971, came to mind…
I’ve done two versions of this one. V1 is purely grayscale, and is, perhaps, rather more stark and bleak than V2, which is the same image tinted blue. The blue tint could come across as a little trite and obvious, I guess, since you could construe the entire concept here to be about feeling 'the blues'... but I liked the look, so I've included both for consideration.

A snow covered hill, cold blue, blurred horizon gives a sense of wild wintriness and disappearing as we move to the horizon and drift upward with the dreaminess of the clouds. All that holds us is the tree line and the memory of what lies beneath.

What had become the norm of numerous dark days, brought two glorious sky days filled with a variety of cloud formations that was dizzying to take in. Wonderful moisture-laden layers with quickly changing shapes and tendrils changed so quickly that if I didn't act quickly the shapes reorganized and I would lose the visions that drew me.

Hibiscus acetosella "Haight Ashbury" -
Nature is endlessly artistic! It is almost impossible to believe that these colors are authentic to this plant.
The interacting shapes of the leaves and flower buds also creates a multitude of visual examples of abstract designs found in nature.

Pine branches with thin needles are set against a soft, textured background with muted colors. A few little pine cones are visible among the delicate, wispy tips of the branches, adding touches of interest amidst the soft foliage.
My "Pitch Pine" photograph has been re-imagined into something a little softer, more moody... The gentle tones of green and gold are highlighted with hints of subtle purple and pink, adding to the warm, dreamy look.
