Description
(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) There are many scenic overlooks at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and each one provides unique opportunities for a different point of view. At the eastern end is located the Desert Point overlook, featuring a 70 foot watchtower built in 1932 in a design that resembles ancient Anasazi structures found not far away. Built of weathered stones carefully placed around a steel frame, that structure still stands today and is a popular tourist attraction. A few feet away from that tower, I discovered the remains of an early native American structure and these beautiful ... Canyon Rocks.
I created this image from my original photograph taken on location by adding digital enhancements, textures or painterly style brush strokes. These effects and image details will become more visible by clicking inside the green magnifier square as the cursor is placed over the image.
