Growing grapes to produce these fine wines is no easy task and a successful harvest depends on so many variables. The condition of the soil, maturity of the vines, amounts of sun, rain, and many other aspects too complicated to discuss. But perhaps most importantly is the amount of care frequently provided by those who attend to the needs of each individual vine. So it seemed only natural that these caregivers of the vines should have a place to express their thanks for favorable weather or to pray for a bountiful harvest. My love for photography began as a boy when I was taught the basics by my father. During a tour of duty with an Army Combat K9 unit in Vietnam, I bought a professional model Nikon SLR camera and dreamed of becoming an artistic photographer when I returned home. A family of my own and a new career put that dream on hold for many years, but I had always enjoyed photography as an art form. Then, after surviving another kind of war with cancer back in 1997, I began to really see the beauty in our world.
