(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) The ancient city of Taormina, on the island of Sicily, is an art lover's paradise. Many artists live there, as they have an unlimited supply of beautiful scenes to sketch, paint or photograph. Artisans and skilled craftsman create an abundance of jewelry, ceramic tiles, sculptures and of course, pottery. Collectors of art and tourists come by the thousands, looking for something special that they do not yet have. There is some beauty to be seen every where you look. Some of the artists live right above the shops, in buildings that are hundreds of years old. That is where I discovered this beautiful balcony one sunny day as I enjoyed the... Colors Of Sicily.

About Mel Steinhauer
My love for photography began as a boy when I was taught the basics by my father. During a tour of duty with an Army Combat K9 unit in Vietnam, I bought a professional model Nikon SLR camera and dreamed of becoming an artistic photographer when I returned home. A family of my own and a new career put that dream on hold for many years, but I had always enjoyed photography as an art form. Then, after surviving another kind of war with cancer back in 1997, I began to really see the beauty in our world.
