(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) If you do not live in a small town, then making a visit to one is often like taking a journey back in time. Back to a time when life was simpler and where things happen at a slower pace than they do in a large city. What I like most about small towns is that they are small, so you can park you car and just walk around for several blocks to enjoy their unique charm and character. One summer day as I walked around this small Kentucky town on the Ohio River, I found a famous old movie theater, an opera house, a museum, several churches, some unique shops, business offices, art galleries, restaurants and much more all right there in beautiful .... Downtown Maysville Kentucky.

About Mel Steinhauer
My love for photography began as a boy when I was taught the basics by my father. During a tour of duty with an Army Combat K9 unit in Vietnam, I bought a professional model Nikon SLR camera and dreamed of becoming an artistic photographer when I returned home. A family of my own and a new career put that dream on hold for many years, but I had always enjoyed photography as an art form. Then, after surviving another kind of war with cancer back in 1997, I began to really see the beauty in our world.
