Just a few miles west of Cincinnati, along the banks of the Ohio River to the small community of Rabbit Hash. Although it was already September, I was somewhat surprised to see these pumpkins on the front porch. Back in the big city, stores have had their Halloween and fall decorations out for a few weeks now, but time down in Rabbit Hash just seems to pass by a lot more slowly. That's the main reason I like to visit there. The store has been in continuous operation ever since 1831 and that's a pretty long time in a country only 55 years older than that. The dogs were obviously on a break and they didn't seem to mind the pumpkins taking up their usual resting spots. Yes, it was just another ordinary day at... The Old General Store.

During a tour of duty with an Army Combat K9 unit in Vietnam, I bought a professional model Nikon SLR camera and dreamed of becoming an artistic photographer when I returned home.
