(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) Cincinnati businessman Henry Probasco donated this beautiful fountain in 1871, to honor his deceased partner Tyler Davidson. He went to Munich to the famous Royal Bronze Foundry of Bavaria and met with Ferdinand von Miller where it was cast from salvaged Danish cannons. Sculptor August von Kreling designed it to celebrate the many uses and pleasures of water. It has been moved and restored a few times over the years but it has always been a popular and well-loved symbol of the city. Here, in the heart of the city's downtown area, is the beautiful ... My love for photography began as a boy when I was taught the basics by my father. During a tour of duty with an Army Combat K9 unit in Vietnam, I bought a professional model Nikon SLR camera and dreamed of becoming an artistic photographer when I returned home. A family of my own and a new career put that dream on hold for many years, but I had always enjoyed photography as an art form. Then, after surviving another kind of war with cancer back in 1997, I began to really see the beauty in our world.
