Artist's Description
(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) Will Stephens built this house for his family in rural Florida, in 1912. He did so in the " Cracker Gothic " style which was popular from about the 1870s through the early 1900s. A fireplace was used for heat and the house was raised off the ground for natural cooling during the hot summer months. In 1982, this house was donated and moved to the Manatee Village Historical Park in Bradenton, Florida. Ever since then I have been inspired with a new awareness of life and an improved photographic vision. This has compelled me to find beautiful scenes wherever I go and to share my favorite creations with others who may not have the time or...
